Two hundred high-grade CAT tourniquets were delivered to Ukrainian soldiers by the Head of the organization, Nataliya Toropova. The tourniquets are intended for troops serving in the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Sumy directions.

The purchase was made possible thanks to private donations collected between December and March. The total raised was nearly €7,500. The largest contribution came from the Anglican Church of Luxembourg, alongside dozens of individual donors who supported both financially and by spreading the word.

Modern CAT tourniquets are a critically important part of a soldier’s individual medical kit. They are used to stop massive bleeding in the first minutes after injury, when there is no access to professional medical help. The timely application of a tourniquet often determines whether a wounded person survives. In combat conditions, this is a basic but irreplaceable tool.

Any serious injury triggers a surge of adrenaline that keeps the body fighting. But as soon as the adrenaline fades, a person begins to feel weak, dizzy, nauseated, and loses consciousness and fine motor skills. The wounded individual has just 1 to 3 minutes to stop the bleeding and save their life. Needless to say, there is rarely a paramedic nearby in such moments.

Tourniquets are essential not only for soldiers on the front lines but also for volunteers, medics, first responders, and civilians in frontline regions. In many cases, it is the presence of a tourniquet that helps save a life after a missile strike or shelling.

Unfortunately, many servicemembers have only one tourniquet — or none at all. The minimum requirement is at least four tourniquets per soldier. That’s why the fundraising continues.
